El Rey is the home of hundreds of iguanas, so this site is fun for children. If you’d like to see larger ruins, visit Chichen Itza or Tulum, where you can find huge Mayan pyramids and ancient ruins of Mayan temples and other buildings. These ruins will take up a whole day of your time so that you can learn everything that you can and have the time to explore the area.
From the hotel zone, bud tours also take you into downtown Cancun, which has some of the best shopping in the area. In Mexico, you will find a lot of malls and shopping markets that will have American stores and that will be Familiar to you. At markets you can find a number of Mexicans selling traditional hand-made items like jewelry, blanks, hats, and toys. You will want to make sure that you haggle, because it will not only be expected from you, but you will be able to have a lot of fun. Prices here are usually much more reasonable than they are in the hotel zone, so do your shopping downtown.
